If you want to get involved, there’s tons of work that need to be done and a bunch of ways to help.
The Earth First! movement is currently running multiple campaigns around the country in defense of wild lands and ecosystems. These campaigns need our help, and we’d love to help you get involved in the fight now!
We also have a list of resources that may be useful to you and your community when strategizing a campaign, planning a direct action, thinking about computer security, or talking to the media. Hopefully these will help you raise a ruckus at home!
Specific Ways to Help Out The Roadshow
If you’re town or city has a lot of financial resources in it or is just really willing to help folks out, putting on a benefit of one sort or another is a great way to help make the roadshow happen. Here are some ideas for benefits: music shows, fancy dinners where the food is provided free, asking us to come and speak, getting other speakers, movie showings, dance parties, raffles, bike rides, guided hikes, and so many more. If you want to host a benefit, we can get you information about the roadshow and Earth First! to have available to people who come. If you have any questions or want to set up a benefit, please e-mail us.
Setting Up a Stop
If you’re interested in setting up a stop for us, please e-mail us right away so that we know you’re thinking about it. The section called Hosts Page would be a good thing to look over to get a better idea of what all setting up a stop would entail.
It’s real important to us that as many folks as possible know about our stops and the roadshow as a whole. If you want to help get the word out, some of the ways that you can do that is:
– submitting articles to journals, magazines, and zines (or asking us to send them in).
– talking the roadshow up to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.
– recommending places we should send our info to.
– putting up flyers and posters which can be found on the Host’s Page
– sending e-mails out over list-serves in your town.
– making announcements at meetings.
If you need supplies, articles, more information, or anything like that, send us an e-mail to let us know.
Wanna Come on Tour With Us?
We’re trying to make sure that the group of folks going on the tour are really comfortable with each other and that we’re all on the same page in terms of what we want to see happen with the tour. Also, as we’re still trying to figure out vehicles, we aren’t certain how much room we’re going to have. We are not trying to be exclusionary, but we are trying to be selective. So, if you really want to come with us, drop us an e-mail letting us know who you are, why you want to come along, what you can bring to the table, and what dates you’d like to be on tour.
For everything else, please e-mail us.
